Abbreviation Guide

Here is some common abbreviation used in pattern reading. For knitting abbreviation master list please click here.




 Pattern grid guide:

In all sketches you can follow the grid to figure out the arrangement of stitches and to find out how the next row will start . In some patterns it doesn’t matter whether you have the odd or even number of stitches but in some it differs depending on the number of stitches in a single bunch.

For example : According to this table second row  starts with K because the shown quantity is even . Provided that you have casted on 5 stitches . Then starting with k will be incorrect and will mix your pattern so you should start with P to have correct pattern.
