KNITTED MEASUREMENTS

  • Fit kid size medium
  • Head circumference 18–20″/ 45.5–51 cm

 MATERIALS

  • One skein of Lion Brand® Scarfie Yarn
  • Circular Needle: size 7 (4.5 mm) length 16″/40 cm
  • Spare needle
  • Measuring tape
  • Pair of scissors
  • Eye blunt needle
  • Stitch marker
  • Pom pom

 

HAT

Gauge
Cast on 99 sts
2.5″/6 cm over rib stitch
5.5″/14 cm over cable stitch
3 rows over finishing and blocking

Cast on
Cast on 99 stitches with one needle, tie the end.

Edge
Place the marker, join the circular, work on a Rib stitch for 2.5″/6 cm repeating K2, P1

Cable stitch
Round 1 and 2: knit all stitches
Round 3: K3, rep(SL3FRT*, K3, RSL3*)
Round 4 and 5: knit all stitches
Round 6: rep( SL3BK*, K3, RSL3*)
repeat round 1 to 6

NOTE:
SL3FRT*: slip 3 stitches to spare needle in front
SL3BK*: slip 3 stitches to spare needle in Back
RSL3*: return 3 slipped stitches back from spare needle to the left needle and knit them

Finishing
K2tog for three rounds to drop stitches to 25, cut the yarn for about 15-20 cm, get the eye blunt needle and pass through stitches, pull the end and send the tail inside, sew the end to block and then sew the pom pom to top of the hat.

 

NECK WARMER

Gauge
Cast on 105 sts
1″/2.5 cm over rib stitch
7″/18 cm over cable stitch
1″/2.5 cm over rib stitch

Cast on
Cast on 105 stitches with one needle, tie the end.

Edge
Place the marker, join the circular, work on a Rib stitch for 1″/2.5 cm repeating K2, P1

Cable stitch
Round 1 and 2: knit all stitches
Round 3: K3, rep (SL3FRT*, K3, RSL3*)
Round 4 and 5: knit all stitches
Round 6: rep( SL3BK*, K3, RSL3*)
repeat round 1 to 6

NOTE:
SL3FRT*: slip 3 stitches to spare needle in front
SL3BK*: slip 3 stitches to spare needle in Back
RSL3*: return 3 slipped stitches back from spare needle to the left needle and knit them

Edge
Work on a Rib stitch for 1″/2.5 cm repeating K2, P1. Block all stitches.
